Financial Information and GLBA

When we administer financial aid, we may handle information subject to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and the FTC Safeguards Rule. IUPLS maintains an information security program, conducts risk assessments, and requires appropriate safeguards by service providers to protect covered information.

Payments are processed by third-party processors. IUPLS does not store full payment card numbers or CVV codes on IUPLS systems.

Wyoming-Specific Disclosures

  • Data breach notifications: If certain personal identifying information about a Wyoming resident is acquired by an unauthorized person and misuse has occurred or is reasonably likely, IUPLS will notify affected Wyoming residents as soon as possible and without unreasonable delay, consistent with law enforcement needs and measures needed to determine scope and restore system integrity. Notice will include the elements required by Wyoming law (e.g., general description of the incident, types of information involved, approximate date, actions taken, relevant contact and credit reporting information, and whether notice was delayed due to law enforcement).
  • Attorney General enforcement: Wyoming law does not require separate notice to the Wyoming Attorney General for such breaches; however, the Attorney General may bring an enforcement action for violations.
